“Working with Becky has been one of the best decisions I have made, investing in myself and my future. Becky’s approach to our therapy sessions has always been relaxed and personable. From the very start of our work she quickly understood the kind of person I was, tailoring every session to make me feel comfortable and safe in order to get the most out of the time together. Becky is caring, open and honest which has enabled me to be the same, face difficult situations and challenge my beliefs in a way that would have been impossible without her. Through Becky’s commitment and dedication to our work I have begun to feel more myself, celebrating what it is to be uniquely me with a confidence that comes from within.” (Business Analyst, West London)
Are you struggling to cope on a day to day basis, or is a long term issue getting on top of you? Do you feel overwhelmed by feelings of sadness, loneliness or anxiety or a lack of purpose and meaning in your life? Do you find it hard to let people around you know how you really feel?
If so, Therapy could help.
Many of us form unconscious habits or patterns of behaviour and relationship, as a way of surviving and making sense of childhood challenges and other traumas. As an adult and in everyday life these survival strategies can become increasingly unhelpful, and can hinder our progress in life. Therapy can help us become more aware of these habits, and help us in making different choices in life, which can lead to the possibility of positive change and increased personal effectiveness.
As a fully qualified and accredited senior practitioner, I have experience of working with clients with a wide range of backgrounds and issues. I offer psychotherapy and counselling to individuals and couples, and have helped clients with the following problems,
The values that are central to my work as a therapist are my wish to honour my client’s personal truth, and a deep respect for their understanding and experience of their world and the presenting issues within it. I aim to relate to my clients with consistently high levels of personal integrity, honesty, and congruence, and openly embrace all aspects of diversity and difference that I meet in my practice. I hope to be able to help alleviate my clients’ personal distress and suffering, support them in developing a more meaningful sense of self, and increasing their personal effectiveness. My approach is designed to facilitate the spirit of enquiry and self-actualisation, and support and promote my clients’ personal, social and emotional integration through the process of therapeutic change.
I undertook my psychotherapy training at The Metanoia Institute in West London. I have been working with clients on a one to one, couple and group basis since 2008 and have worked in a number of therapeutic settings. This includes Private Practice, MCPS Psychotherapy and Counselling service, HMP Pentonville mental health team, and The Koan Practice.
I have a background in commercially successful start-ups, and have twenty plus years’ experience of management, senior management and executive roles. I aim to actively integrate my professional experiences outside of my clinical practice into my work as a therapist, and am able to offer my clients a unique and detailed understanding of the challenges that they face in their working world.
I am accredited in the UK as an Integrative Psychotherapist by UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy).
I have worked with many different types of people, and I understand that in order to be able to trust, confide in and work with me, it is vital for you to feel safe and secure. Your therapy is confidential and we will explore this in detail at the initial consultation. I am registered, accredited and bound by the UKCP code of ethics.
I contract with clients on an open ended basis, and will work in partnership with you to build a tailor made plan, designed to support you in achieving your individual therapeutic goals. Weekly sessions run for 50 minutes, on an ongoing contracted basis. If clients are unable to a scheduled session, with notice of more than 48hrs Becky will aim to reschedule the session where possible.
I require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations of scheduled appointments; otherwise I charge the full fee for the session. With 48 hours or more notice, I still charge a £10 cancellation fee. This is because I pay Koan a weekly “active client” fee and administrative fees and I am just passing this cost on to clients.
