My name is Elaine and I’m a qualified Counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work with clients creatively and I believe in using a holistic approach, which means I incorporate both body and mind. In my experience, using both body and mind in sessions allows us to try to understand your triggers, your past and can also allow us to think of useful tools which can help in relieving some of the distress you feel; which can not only be mental but can also feel quite physical at times.

My approach:
As an Integrative therapist, my training involved using a range of various approaches which includes Psychodynamic, CBT, Person Centred and Mindfulness. The foundation of our work together will involve the relationship we form and the trust we build. Together, we will journey between past and present and try to piece together what may be causing you difficulties. I work with clients in a collaborative manner and my wish for my clients is to leave therapy as a more integrated, authentic self.

Areas of interest:
I am particularly interested in working with clients who have experienced trauma, addictions, relationship issues and anxieties. I believe our environments vastly shape who we become, and I encourage clients to work through a lens of curiosity both about their own internal worlds, and the external relationships they have formed.
