Working with individuals or couples.
Full Member Society Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists.
Associate Member of the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR London)
I have been working in the fields of counselling and psychotherapy since 1986. I started as a voluntary worker in couple counselling but, after taking early retirement from an academic post in sociology, I moved to London and took a psychoanalytic training at the (then) Tavistock Marital Studies Institute. This training concentrated on work with couples, so I subsequently did further training at the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research – this time concentrating on work with individual patients. I continue to work with both individuals and couples, and am registered with both the UKCP and the BPC.
I also have another consulting room near London Bridge, and I work from home, in Blackheath, in the evenings. I am married with three children and four grandchildren.
If you want to know more about the way I work, it is best if you come for an initial consultation with me. This does not commit you to further sessions, and it will help you decide if I am the sort of therapist you are looking for.
